July 15, 2026 - The TDSC® (Terror and Disaster Surgical Care) course provides physicians with practical knowledge for providing medical care in terrorist attacks and mass casualty incidents. On August 22 and 23, 2026, participants will train at the Institute for Public Health in Acute Medicine (IPHAM) at UMMD, using realistic case simulations to practice surgical, organizational, and tactical-strategic decision-making processes for highly dynamic emergency situations.

July 14, 2026 - The new heat indicator on the Robert Koch Institute’s dashboard highlights heat-related visits to German emergency rooms. It is based on anonymized routine data provided through the AKTIN infrastructure of the University Medical Centers in Magdeburg and Aachen. The data helps to better assess the health impacts of extreme heat.
